Nordex wins 25MW Bavaria deal

GERMANY: Nordex has received an unconditional 24MW deal from VenSol Neue Energien for a project in Bavaria, Germany.

The Zoschingen wind farm, which is located in the eastern district of Dillingen, will use N117/2400 low wind speed turbines. According to Nordex, the wind farm will be the largest in Bavaria.

Speaking about the deal, Nordex chief commercial officer Lars Bondo Krogsgaard said: "The Zoschingen wind farm is a perfect reference for us for further projects in southern Germany.

"With its large rotor sweep, the N117/2400 is a highly attractive solution in economic terms for locations in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg as well as Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate."

Last year, Bavaria also put in an unexpected performance, adding 165MW and also making it into the top five states in wind additions last year.
