Nordex extends range for low and medium wind sites

GERMANY: Nordex is adding two new models to its 3MW-plus Generation Delta platform aimed at low- and medium wind locations.

Nordex's new low-wind offering will have a nameplate capacity of 3.9MW

The low-wind N131/3900 is an uprated version of the N131/3600 with nameplate capacity boosted by 8% to 3.9MW.

It will be offered with hub heights of up to 134 metres, and will be available in European and North American markets from January 2018.

Noise-optimised operation modes are also available to allow it to be used in sound-sensitive locations.

The N131/3600, launched in autumn 2016, has now been ratified for deployment at medium-wind locations. According to Nordex, the turbine yield is up to 15% higher than its current medium-wind offering, the N117/3600.

It will be available with hub heights ranging from 84 to 134 metres.
