Gamesa wins 29.4MW US deal

UNITED STATES: Gamesa has been awarded a 29.4MW deal from Heritage Sustainable Energy to supply the second phase of a project in Michigan, northern US.

Gamesa claims its G114 turbine has received over 600MW of orders in the US

Gamesa will supply 14 G114-2.1MW turbines to the Big Turtle site owned by the local developer. Gamesa will service the turbines for 12 years.

Delivery is expected in August 2016, with commissioning due in October.

The 14 turbines form the second phase of the project. Gamesa powered the first phase with ten G114-2MW turbines in 2014. Overall, Big Turtle will have a 49.4MW operating capacity.

The order for the first phase was Gamesa's first for the model in the US.

Gamesa claimed to have received orders of over 600MW for the G114 model – in both 2MW and 2.1MW forms – in the US.
