Kentish Flats Extension
Installation complete: GeoSea has installed all 15 V112-3.3 turbines at Vattenfall's Kentish Flats Extension, marking the completion of construction at the 49.5MW project.
Neptune has now left the project site off the Kent coast.
Commissioning will follow, with first power expected by the end of September. The project is an extension of the 90MW Kentish Flats. 10-Aug-15
London Array
Boat charter: Vessels supplier CWind has been contracted to provide two crew transfer vessels to London Array.
Operating out of Ramsgate, the CWind Alliance and CWind Artimus vessels will support operations and maintenance activities at the 630MW wind farm in the outer Thames estuary.
London Array, developed by a consortium of Dong Energy, E.on and Masdar, was completed in 2013. 11-Aug-15
Courseulles-sur-Mer / Saint-Nazaire
Consultation begins: The public enquiries for Saint-Nazaire and Courseulles-sur-Mer are under way.
They will last until 25 September and 10 October, respectively.
The 450MW Courseulles-sur-Mer is planned for a site in the English Channel, while the 480MW Saint-Nazaire is planned for a site in the Atlantic Ocean, off western France.
Both projects are slated to use the Alstom Haliade 6MW turbine and to come online by 2019. 11-Aug-15
Barrow
Refurbishment contract: Locally-based Elevated Systems Technology (EST) was contracted to install new flooring in Barrow's offshore substation and the 90MW wind farm's 30 turbines.
The work is under way and due for completion by the beginning of October 2015.
The Dong-owned and operated wind farm is located in the Irish Sea, west of Walney Island, Cumbria, north-west England. It has been operational since 2006. 12-Aug-15
Humber Gateway
O&M services: SeaRoc's SeaPlanner software will assist with operations and maintenance at E.on's Humber Gateway.
A complete management and monitoring solution will be provided to the 219MW wind farm, including personnel and vessel tracking and certification management.
The software was also deployed during Humber Gateway's construction phase.
The newly online wind farm lies in the North Sea, eight kilometres off England's north-east coast. 13-Aug-15
