Vestas secures 33MW Austrian deal

AUSTRIA: Vestas has secured a contract with local developer Smart-energie Betriebs to supply 33MW for a project in Lower Austria.

Vestas will deliver its V126 turbine to the Lower-Austrian project

Vestas will deliver ten V126-3.3MW turbines to the Hohenruppersdorf II project. Delivery is expected by the end of 2015 with commissioning due in the second quarter of 2016.

The contract also includes a 20-year servicing deal. According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, Vestas has 370MW of turbines installed in Austria.

Around 390MW of new capacity is due to be installed in the land-locked nation in 2015, mostly in Lower Austria.

The total slightly less than the 411MW commissioned in 2014, but a clear improvement on the 296MW of 2012 and 308MW of 2013. Austria's total wind fleet now stands at 2,095MW.
