OX2 hands Vestas 33MW deal

SWEDEN: Vestas has won a 33MW deal for 10 V126 3.3MW low wind turbines to go to a project in Sweden.

The Maevaara 2 project project is located in northern Sweden. The deal comes with a 15-year service contract.

According to Vestas the project will come online by the third quarter of 2016.

According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, OX2 has around 500MW online in Sweden with projects including 90MW Glötesvålen project, using Vestas V90 turbines, in Jämtland County.

The deal includes Vestas' de-icing product, which heats the blades to remove reduce build-up.

Speaking about the deal, Paul Stormoen, CEO of OX2 Wind said: "The new V126-3.3 MW with de-icing is a good match for the Nordic environment and ensures that the site is utilised in an optimal way."
