The contract is for 130 2.3MW turbines with 108-metre blades to go to the Kay Wind project wind project in Oklahoma. According to Siemens the project will be commissioned in Q4 2015.
The deal includes a five-year service agreement.
Speaking about the contract, Siemens said the turbines would be constructed at its US plants. The nacelles will be assembled at Siemens' facility in Hutchinson, Kansas, and the blades will be manufactured at the company's blade facility in Fort Madison, Iowa.
According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç's data division, “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, Siemens has installed around 700MW in Oklahoma since 2009. This includes the 228MW Crossroads project that also uses 2.3MW turbines.
