GE wins 337MW order in Brazil

BRAZIL: US wind turbine manufacturer GE confirms it has clinched an agreement with Brazilian developer Casa dos Ventos to supply 203 turbines totalling 337.4MW.

The turbines will go to two complexes, one in the state of Ceara (123.2MW) the other in Pernambuco (214.2MW).

In Ceara, GE will supply a total of 77, 1.6MW wind turbines - specifically the GE1.6-100 model- to four projects across the district of Tiangua, each at 30.8MW.

The projects are Santo Inacio, Santa Rosa, Sao Geraldo and Sao Sebastiao, according to data from “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, all with a commissioning deadline of February 2016.

Casa dos Ventos, led by global investment firm Salus, acquired those projects last year from cash-strapped Agentinean turbine manufacture and developer Impsa.

In the state of Pernambuco, Casa dos Ventos will install 126, 1.7MW machines -the GE 1.7-103 model- at its Sao Clemente complex, an eight-phase project across the district of Caetes scheduled for completion January 2017.
