Gestamp Eólica selects Vestas for Brazil deal

BRAZIL: Vestas has won a 106MW deal for its 53 V110-2.0 MW turbines to go to a project in Brazil.

The Cabeço Preto III, V and VI, and Macambira I and II projects project is located in Rio Grande do Norte, eastern Brazil. The deal comes with a ten-year service contract.

Vestas said the project will come online by the second quarter of 2016.

According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç's data service, “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, Gestamp Eólica has around a pipeline of around 400MW in Brazil with projects including the 28MW Serra Santana II and 20MW Macambira, all located in Rio Grande do Norte.

Vestas has received around 600MW in orders this year, the company said.

The V110 turbine is one of the latest additions to the Vestas range and was primarily designed for low wind locations.
