Gamesa wins 92MW in China

CHINA: Gamesa has won two contracts in China from Hebei Construction and Investment (HCI) and UPC for a combined capacity of 92MW.

Both deals are for Gamesa's G97 2MW turbine

HCI handed over the largest contract, a 50MW deal for 25 G97 2MW turbines to go to a project in Shanxi province, northern China. The turbines are expected to be delivered in May.

The remaining 42MW deal is for the Huangyan project in Zhejiang province, eastern China and is also for G97 turbines, which will be delivered in April. It is Gamesa's first deal with UPC. According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, UPC has around 3GW in development in the country.

Gamesa said the contracts, which were signed at the end of 2014, took its annual sales in China to 450MW.

In September, Gamesa signeda deal with HCI to supply 75 turbines to the Senjitu II project in Hebei, south-west of Beijing, in 2015.
