The first of the 48 6.15MW Senvion turbines has begun a trial operation. The remaining turbines will be put online one by one as RWE and connection specialist Tennet work on commissioning the project.
RWE said one turbine is yet to be fully installed. The tower and nacelle are in place but weather conditions are preventing the installation of the rotor. The project is meant to be fully completed by Spring 2015.
The at the project, located 35 kilometres from the Helgoland Island, in July.
The project is connected to the grid via the Helwin 1 converter platform.
