Senvion will 47 3.2M114 turbines for the Mesgi'g Ugju's'n project being developed by a 50:50 partnership of Innergex and three Mi'gmaq First Nation groups. It is due to be commisioned by the end of 2016.
The manufacturer said it is the first time this turbine will be installed in North America. Each turbine will also be installed with a hot-air de-icing system.
According to Senvion, the Mesgi'g Ugju's'n project is the largest wind site to be developed with a First Nation group.
In March, government-owned utility Hydro-Quebec signed a 20-year power purchase agreement for the electricity produced from Mesgi'g Ugju's'n. Hydro-Quebec will buy power from the project for C$ 0.089/kWh (US$ 0.079/kWh).
Senvion has previously supplied Innergex with its MM92 turbines for use at the 24.6MW Viger-Denonville project in Quebec. It went online in 2013.
