The two companies will jointly develop, own and operate the project as part of their joint $5 billion investment in renewable energy in the state. This is the fifth wind project developed under the programme, and will result in a combined capacity of 970MW.
Samsung and Pattern bought the project from GDF Suez in June this year. In documents submitted to consenting authorities the developers proposed using Siemens 2.3MW or 3MW turbines.
The permitting process has begun, but has not yet been completed, and the project is due to be commissioned in 2017.
