Siemens awarded Vattenfall deal

SWEDEN: Siemens will supply nine 3.2MW turbines to Vattenfall's 28.8MW Juktan project.

Siemens will deliver nine SWT-3.2-130 turbines to the Swedish project

The German firm has been signed up to manufacture the SWT-3.2-113 turbines, equipped with Siemens' de-icing system. A five-year servicing deal is also included.

Juktan is located in the Sorsele municipality in northern Sweden. Construction is due to take place in autumn 2015. It is the first Swedish project to use Siemens' D3 platform turbines, the manufacturer said.

The 3.2MW direct-drive turbine was launched at the EWEA conference in Barcelona earlier this year.

This week, Siemens unveiled a new 3.3MW turbine at the WindEnergy Hamburg event in Germany. The new machine is aimed at the German and European low and medium wind markets. It will be available from 2017.
