The Danish turbine manufacturer announced in March it was planning to downsize its Aarhus headquarters and move some operations to Copenhagen.
Vestas confirmed this is still the plan, but explained that selling both buildings and renting one back would be more appealing to potential buyers.
Vestas said it remains committed to the city of Aarhus, adding there is no timeline for the sale. "We are working actively with a real estate company and are waiting for the right buyer," a company spokesperson said.
The divisions selected for relocation to Copenhagen are global sales, marketing, communications and corporate relations, and finance. There will be no job losses, and all employees working in the affected departments have been offered relocation. The move is expected to be completed by December 2014.
