The Danish manufacturer said that the move is part of its plans to continually increase profitability through "site consolidation and implication of Vestas' geographical footprint".
A number of commercial functions will be moved from Aarhus to Copenhagen in the second half of the year as a result.
However, Vestas' headquarters will remain in the east Jutland city.
The divisions selected for relocation are global sales, marketing, communications and corporate relations, and finance. There will be no job losses, and all employees working in the affected areas will be offered relocation to Copenhagen.
Vestas has been engaging in a programme of cuts in order to bring itself back to profitability after a slump in demand following the global economic slowdown.
At the end of 2011, Vestas had 22,721 employees worldwide, but as the company struggled to return to profitability, deep cuts and the closure of a number of facilities have chipped away at this figure, leaving it with 16,000 workers.
The company declared the end of the turnaround following the publication of its 2014 results in February, showing a healthy growth in profit.
