The developer Seagreen is a joint venture between utility SSE Renewables and engineering firm Fluor UK. It received planning permission in principle from the local Angus Council in December.
Following consultation with the landowner, Seagreen has resubmitted plans altering the cable route around Balhungie Farm to avoid an area of polytunnels and an existing reservoir.
The cable will connect the Alpha and Bravo projects from its point of landfall at Carnoustie to the UK's grid connection point at Tealing, eastern Scotland.
A public consultation event will be held to allow local residents the opportunity to give feedback on the new plans before they are submitted to the Angus Council.
The two projects are the first of three phases in the proposed 3.65GW Firth of Forth round three offshore zone.
At their closest points, Alpha and Bravo will be located 27km and 38km respectively, from the shore. Each would comprise up to 75 wind turbines.
