KDM's management will run the new joint venture on a day-to-day basis, with James Fisher providing engineering, operations and maintenance support.
The new venture will operate under the name James Fisher Mass Flow Excavation Ltd and be active in the global renewable energy sector.
James Fisher operates the HydroDigger excavation system while KDM owns the TwinProp tool. The TwinProp uses water to clear marine debris, such as sand and clay, in order for cables and pipes to be installed or removed.
In April, James Fisher unveiled a new method for changing offshore turbine gearbox oil in a bid to improve efficiency.
The new system allows the extraction and refill of oil from a conventional access vessel.
