The $40 million deal is the sixth that has been struck between the two company's and will see AMSC start shipping the systems to Inox imminently.
This is the largest order Inox has placed with AMSC since the US firm licensed the design of a 2MW turbine to Inox in 2009.
Included in the deal are the turbine power converter cabinet, internal power supply and various controls, including performance monitoring, power flow controls and pitch and yaw drivers.
While Inox is licensed to manufacture the majority of the turbine itself, AMSC reserves the right to provide the control systems under the agreement.
The Indian manufacturer has been producing the turbine at volume since 2009, and has focused on its home market. It is manufactured at Inox's factories in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. It features a double-fed induction generator and a 93-metre rotor.
