AMSC wins $30 million order from Inox

UNITED STATES: AMSC has won a $30 million electrical control systems order from Indian manufacturer Inox Wind.

AMSC said it would supply the components, which will be used on the company's 2MW turbine, in 2014. The US company said it was the fifth largest order it has received from Inox.

The 2MW turbine is built under license from AMSC. The 2009 agreement allows Inox to manufacture and market the turbines globally.

Inox Wind is part of India's Inox group of chemical companies. It paid AMSC an upfront licence fee and will pay royalties up to an undisclosed number of turbines.
