Nordex will supply seven of the 2.4MW turbines for a 16.8MW wind project in Lazenay, central France.
The turbine has been designed for IEC III low wind class sites, typical for the region.
The supply deal also includes 15 years servicing from when the project is installed by the end of 2014.
It is the first time the German manufacturer has supplied the N117 turbine in France, but the companies said they plan to continue working together on other projects.
In April, Nordex secured an order to supply 55 of the low-wind turbine at several projects across Germany.
The company moved into the top ten largest turbine manufacturers last year, according to consultants BTM, thanks in part to a strong showing from the N117/2400.
