The German manufacturer will supply 17 of its direct-drive SWT 101-3MW turbines for the Eurus Yurikogen project on Japan's north-west coast.
Installation of the turbines is expected to start in January 2016, with commissioning due later that year. The deal also includes a five-year service and maintenance agreement.
This project will be Siemen's third-largest project in Japan. The manufacturer has a cumulative capacity of 128MW in the country, installed since 1999.
In 2013 Siemens won a contract to install six of the SWT 101-3MW turbines at the Akita Port project, also in Japan. Installation will begin this spring and will be the debut for Siemens direct-drive turbines in the country.
