Vestas appoints new Asia Pacific and China president

DENMARK: Vestas has appointed Chris Beaufait as president of its Asia Pacific and China division.

Beaufait, who will also be a group senior vice president, comes to the Danish turbine manufacturer from his previous position as president of GE Aviation in China.

Vestas said Beaufait has "extensive experience across multiple businesses and functions internationally".  He will take up his new post on 1 April.

Jens Tommerup previously held the position, but left when he was appointed CEO of the Vestas and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries joint venture in September.

Daniel Nielsen, who had taken up the position in the interim, will return to his role as chief operations officer of the division.
