Seacat Services launches South Catamaran

UK: Offshore wind vessel operator, Seacat Services, has launched 24 metre South Catamaran, Seacat Volunteer.

Seacat Volunteer

South Boats built the vessel in its Cowes shipyard, on the Isle of White.

The aluminium-hulled vessel can accommodate 12 wind farm technicians and three crew. It is propelled by twin Rolls Royce water jets and can reach speeds of 29 knots.

This is Seacat Services’ sixth crew transfer vessel and once trials have been conducted Seacat Volunteer will be available for UK and other European offshore wind farms.

In September Seacat Services placed a £10 million (EUR 11.8 million) order for three work boats - one 24-metre and two 26-metre boats.

They will be delivered over the course of the next 18 to 24 months by South Boats.
