One 24-metre and two 26-metre boats will be delivered over the course of the next 18 to 24 months by UK manufacturer of wind farm crew vessels, South Boats IOW.
"Given the sheer size and scale of the [offshore wind] energy infrastructure, there's a significant growth trajectory and one that both boat builders and charter services firms have to really step up to and meet," said Ben Colman, sales and marketing manager at South Boats.
In January 2014, Seacat will launch its sixth crew transfer vessel, Seacat Volunteer. This 24-metre workboat is already under construction at the South Boats Cowes shipyard on the Isle of White.
