ETI recruits offshore strategy manager

Nick Clarke joins public-private partnership

The UK’s Energy Technologies Institute (ETI) has appointed a strategy manager for offshore renewables. Nick Clarke will be responsible for the institute's offshore wind and marine programmes.

The ETI is a public-private partnership, which aims to accelerate renewables' development. It has invested £60m (€70m) to date, in programmes focused on achieving cost reductions and enhanced reliability in offshore wind.

Commenting on his appointment, Nick Clarke said: "I am delighted to join the ETI working on such varied and interesting new technology programmes. Both offshore wind and marine are industries in their relative infancy. This provides a lot of potential to accelerate the development of new technology, helping to build viable business propositions through cost reduction and increased reliability."
