Gamesa takes 150MW contract in Brazil

BRAZIL: Gamesa has received a 150MW supply agreement from Consórcio Morrinhos for five projects in Bahia.

The deal is for Gamesa's G97 2MW machine

The deal is for 75 G97 2MW turbines, to be split equally between the projects. Gamesa said installation is set to begin in Q2 2014, with completion by 1H 2015.

Consórcio Morrinhos is a consortium comprising Atlantic Energias Renováveis and Brazilian developer Casa dos Ventos.

Gamesa said the contract includes a 15-year warranty.

Speaking about the deal, Gamesa regional director Edgard Corrochano said: "This contract reinforces Gamesa's strategic commitment to Brazil, one of our priority growth markets for the near and medium term."

Marcelo Marder, managing director of Atlantic Renovaveis do Brasil, said that "this project consolidates our company as one of the country's leading energy players and marks the start of a firm and committed long-term relationship with Gamesa".
