Eksim Yatirim Group is ordering 20 N100/2500 turbines for the Hasanbeyli wind farm near the Taurus mountains in southeast Turkey. Additionally, it is ordering 18 N100s for the Silivri project near Istanbul.
The second customer is Dost Enerji, which has ordered 12 N90/2500 turbines. One of these will be added to the 42MW Yuntdag wind farm in Izmir. The remainder will go to the Geres wind farm, which is also in Izmir.
Turkey is expecting a sizeable increase in new wind capacity this year, although market observers are divided as to whether 2013 will be the year that the wind industry really takes off.
Turkey's installed wind capacity must rise nearly tenfold if the country is to meet its official goal of 20GW of wind capacity by 2023.
