The company was bought by EDF Energies Nouvelles, part of the EDF group, ten years ago, and the change of name reflects its ongoing integration into the French electricity giant.
The former enXco’s operations and maintenance (O&M) arm, the largest third-party provider of renewables maintenance services in North America, will remain a separate entity from EDF Renewable Energy; previously known as enXco Service Corporation, the O&M division will now be known as EDF Renewable Services.
The closer alignment to the EDF group allows EDF Renewable Energy and EDF Renewable Services to capitalise on shared knowledge, financial strength and long-term stability, the company said.
"The full integration with EDF allows for increased global backing, new financial and technical resources, and the stability to expand our business, while maintaining our entrepreneurial spirit," said the company’s president and chief executive Tristan Grimbert.
