Nordex wins 12MW order for Bavarian project

GERMANY: Nordex has received a 12MW order from Jura Energie for a project in the Oberpfalz region of eastern Bavaria.

The order is for five N117/2400 low wind turbines, which will be delievered next year. The developer received planning approval for the wind farm in April 2012. It is planning to begin the construction work this Summer and hopes to bring the project into operation next year.

Since the cancelation of the N150 offshore turbine, Nordex has put a lot of faith in the N117. Speaking to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç at EWEA 2012 Nordex CEO Jurgen Zeschky and managing director Jorg Scholle both spoke about the company's high hopes for the turbine in China among other markets.

This is the second order for Nordex this month. On 3 July, it signed a deal to supply the turbines for the 57.5MW second phase of a 110MW wind farm being built on the island of Stord, southern Norway.

The contract was for 13 N90/2500 turbines and 10 N100/2500 turbines for phase two of the Midtfjellet wind farm, being developed by developer Midtfjellet Vindkraft.
