Repower appoints Tanti as chief operating officer

GERMANY: Repower has appointed Vinod Tanti, brother of Suzlon chairman Tulsi Tanti, as chief operating officer.

The appointment of Tanti coincides with the promotion of Marcus Wassenberg to chief financial officer. Wassenburg has been with Repower since 2009 and replaces former CFO Derrick Noe who resigned last month.

Tanti's appointment follows intense speculation about the future of Repower as a Suzlon-owned company. It has been reported the company has been looking at the possibility of selling Repower as a way of alleviating its debts.

In a statement, Suzlon said the appointment of Tanti "will bring the supply chain strength of Suzlon into REpower to maintain and improve cost-efficiency, while meeting the highest standards of reliability and quality, in what is a highly competitive market."

Speaking about the appointment, Repower CEO Andreas Nauen said: "Mr Andreas Nauen, CEO of wholly-owned subsidiary REpower, said: "I have worked closely with Marcus Wassenberg for a number of years now and know he will make an important contribution on the EB as CFO.

"I am also delighted to welcome Mr Vinod Tanti to REpower – his rich experience and deep knowledge of supply chain management we will benefit us significantly."
