Repower COO Tanti to rejoin Suzlon Group

GERMANY: Repower has hired Nordex's chief procurement officer Lars Rytter to replace Vinod Tanti in the role of chief operating officer.

Tanti, brother of Suzlon chairman Tulsi Tanti, leaves after only 12 months in the role. At the time of his appointment, Suzlon said Tanti would focus on aligning Suzlon and Repower's supply chains.

Rytter will join Repower on 1 October, his second stint at the company. Before joining Nordex in 2008, Rytter was Repower's chief supply chain officer. Tanti will stay at Repower until Rytter starts.

Speaking about the appointment of Rytter, Repower chief executive Andreas Nauen said: "We'd like to thank Vinod for his commitment and are pleased that he will stay with Repower until his successor starts.

"We are pleased that Lars Rytter is taking on the responsibility of COO at Repower. He knows our company and can get started right away without needing any time to settle in."

The announcement comes as Repower prepared to cut jobs and operational costs. Last month the German turbine manufacturer said it was attempting to cut costs by EUR 100 million for the 2013-14 financial year. It did not reveal where the job cuts would be made.
