Trump was speaking before Scotland's economy, energy and tourism committee. He is threatening to cancel plans to build the hotel and golf course complex if the Scottish government approves Vattenfall's 100MW Aberdeen Bay wind farm off the Scottish coast.
According to Trump, Salmond promised him in 2007 shortly before he was elected, that the Aberdeen Bay project - a testing site for 11 next generation 6MW+ turbines - would not be built.
Asked whether he thought he had been lied to, Trump said: "I never like to use the word lie. But certainly they told me there would be no wind farm near the property that I was purchasing.
"They wanted me to build and invest in Scotland but it's turned out differently to what they said would happen."
Trump added that Salmond - who is banking on turning Scotland as the "Saudi Arabia of renewables" was less enthusiastic about wind energy in 2007. Salmond has denied the allegation.
