The advert then went on to say: "Alex Salmond [Scotland's First Minister] wants to build 8,750 of these monstrosities — just think about it!"
However, the turbines in the picture were in fact in Hawaii, and following a complaint from industry body Scottish Renewables, the Advertising Standards Authority agreed the campaign had given "a misleading impression of the possible consequences of the Scottish Government's plans to use wind turbines".
The ASA instructed CATS and Trump not to use the advert again in its current form. It said any future campaigns should depict the kind of turbines likely to be used in Scottish wind farms.
