Last year, Goldwind installed 3.6GW, or 20.4% of the Chinese market. In second place was Sinovel, with 2.9GW, a 16.7% of the market.
In third place, United Power moved above Dongfang Electric to be the third largest, with 2.8GW newly installation, seizing 16.1 percent market share.
However, there were signs other manufacturers are coming to the fore as the top three took up only 53.2 percent of the Chinese market, down from 56.8 percent of the top three in 2010.
Barring GE, market share fell for all of the foreign-owned manufacturers.
Vestas was the 8th (2010 6th), GE was the 11th (2010 15th), Gamesa was the 14th (2010 8th), Suzlon was the 20th (2010 15th).
In terms of cumulative total in 2011, the top three wind turbine makers remained Sinovel, Goldwind and Dongfang Electric. They had 13GW, 12.7GW, and 6.9GW cumulative installed capacity by the end of 2011, taking over 20.8 percent, 20.3 percent and 11.1 percent of the Chinese market share, respectively.
