Repower to supply 150MW for Quebec EDF project

CANADA: Repower has been handed a 150MW deal by EDF EN for a wind project south of Quebec.

The project will use Repower 2MW turbines

Repower will supply 75 2MW wind turbines for the Massif du Sud wind farm on the south shore of Quebec City. The project will be come online in the later half of 2012.

The turbines’ blades, towers and converters will be manufactured in Quebec in compliance with rules regarding the tendering process.

The contract is part of a 2009 954MW supply agreement. As part of this, Repower was handed an 80MW deal by EDF for the Saint-Robert-Bellarmin project in Quebec in May.

Repower has said its 2MW MM82 and MM92 wind turbines have been specially designed to handle the cold weather conditions in this part of Canada.
