Acciona plans fourth Australian wind farm

AUSTRALIA: Acciona is looking to build a 144MW wind farm in South Australia.

In papers lodged with the Australian government, the project would be located 15km from Naracoorte in the south-east of the state.

Acciona said it may get approval to build the project in 2013.

The Naracoorte development could use Acciona’s new 3MW low-to-medium speed wind turbine, which is currently being launched in the US market.

Acciona has three Australian projects, the 66MW Cathedral Rocks in South Australia, the 46.5MW Gunning in New South Wales and the 192 Waubra in Victoria.

In 2008, it scrapped plans to build a wind farm along Molonglo Range in the Australian Capital Territory.
