The plant, located to the north of Paris at Longueil-Sainte-Marie, will start production in 2012, producing 100 concrete towers a year and employing around 100 people, the company said.
The site will benefit from access to the planned North Seine canal, linking the Seine with the canal systems of Belgium, Holland and Germany, due for completion in 2015.
France represents Enercon's third major market, after Germany and Portugal. The company has installed 15.5GW to date in France and holds nearly 25% of the French market, ahead of Vestas, Repower and Nordex, according to trade association the Renewable Energy Syndicate.
Enercon opened its French subsidiary at Lacroix-Saint-Ouen, near the site of its new factory, in 2004. It employs over 330 people at its headquarters, two sales offices and more than 17 service centres.
