Siemens wins 168MW order from Duke Energy

UNITED STATES: Siemens has won an order from Duke Energy to supply 168MW for a project in Kansas.

The company will supply 73 2.3MW turbines for the Ironwood “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç project in Ford County, in the southwest of the state.

Duke Energy has a 20-year PPA with Westar Energy for the project.

Construction of Ironwood is expected to start at the end of 2011 with the aim of coming online at the beginning of 2012.

Last week, Enel Green Power North America handed Vestas a contract to supply 200MW for the Caney River project, which is located in Elk county in the southeast of the state, will use 111 V90 1.8MW turbines.
