Siemens receives 41MW order for Poland

POLAND: Eko Energy, a local subsidiary of Spain’s Taiga Mistral, has signed a 41.4MW contract with Siemens for the supply of 18 SWT-101 2.3MW wind turbines for a wind farm in Kobylnica, Poland.

Deliveries are to commence in early July 2011, and the facility is scheduled for completion by 2012. The manufacturer has also signed a ten-year operations and maintenance deal.

After the completion of the Kobylnica project, the total capacity of all Siemens turbines installed in Poland will reach the level of nearly 150MW, which translates to a 10% share of the local market.

Currently, Siemens has delivered 46 turbines with a total capacity of 106MW to Polish wind projects.
