The project, which is calling for European Union funding under the NER3300 scheme would be develooped from 2012-1015 at phase 2 of Belwind's Bligh bank offshore project off Zeebrugge.

In another collaboration also announced today Alstom and Converteam have announced the world's largest direct drive permenanty magnet generator (PMG) for a wind turbine.
As a first step Converteam will equip Altsom's two 6MW offshore wind turbine prototypes with the PMGs, which will be installed onshore and offshore in Europe later this year and early next year.
Last month, Alstom and Danish blade supplier LM Wind Power announced plans to develop what will be the world's longest wind turbine blade.
The two companis have not announced the length of the blades, but has said they will be longer than the current longest blades of 62-63 metres.
Additionally, Alstom has also announced it is bringing out the ECO 11X in the second half of 2011. It will have a rotor diameter in the range of 115-125 metres and is designed for low wind sites.
