The transaction, for which financial details were not revealed, follows Equiventus’s purchase from WKN of the 50MW Bardy Polish offshore wind project in late 2010. Five projects, with total capacity of about 300MW, are in Italy.
These projects range from 18MW to 120MW and are expected to obtain construction permits between 2011 and 2012. Erection of turbines—140 V90 turbines produced by Danish manufacturer Vestas with rated capacity of both 2MW and 3MW—is foreseen between 2013 and 2015.
The three Polish projects have combined capacity of about 150MW, with the capacity of the largest coming in at 92MW.
Vestas V112 3 MW turbines will be used for most projects. The turbines should be erected between 2013 and 2015. The Bardy wind farm is expected to be completed later this year.
