According to regional power company Eletricidade dos Açores (EDA), the 4.5MW wind farm, located on the island of Terceira in the archipelago of the Azores, achieved this result thanks to 4,268 hours equivalent to full production.
The project, which came into operation in 2008, produced 18.3 GWh in 2010. This accounted for 8.5% of total electricity generated on Terceira.
The value for each of the five turbines was obtained from the ratio of the annual production of this equipment and its rated power.
The "high production" was possible due to the availability of equipment, which allowed to keep the farm operating at 99% of the time.
