At home in Germany, the company is marketing uprated versions of its standard 270 kW unit from the beginning of the year. These have rated capacities of 300 kW and 350 kW. Series production of the 600 kW machine is expected to begin in mid 1996.
Südwind has recently applied for support under the European Union's Thermie energy demonstration programme for the development and installation of two 270 kW turbines with synchronous generators operating in stand-alone systems.
The Berlin-based company expects to increase revenue from DEM 12 million in 1995 to DEM 25-30 million in 1996, while the number of employees will rise from 34 to 55, it claims.
