Austrian utility buys 16 MW Black Sea coast wind project

Verbund-Austrian Renewable Power, the renewable energy subsidiary of Austrian utility Verbund, has entered the Bulgarian wind energy market with the acquisition of a 16 MW project under construction on the country's Black Sea coast. The wind farm project was bought from an undisclosed developer and is to consist eight 2 MW turbines from Danish manufacturer Vestas. Verbund says the wind farm is expected to be completed by the autumn and to generate about 50 GWh a year.
