Vermont conditional permit for 30 MW in Green Mountain National Forest
Iberdrola last month received conditional permitting approval from Vermont regulators for its 30 MW Deerfield wind project in the Green Mountain National Forest. The approval requires Iberdrola to sell a significant portion of the wind farm's output to Vermont utilities at "prices favourable relative to market purchases," say regulators. On the other side of the country, the company formally dedicated its 202 MW Peñascal wind plant last month. It has been in construction since last year south of Corpus Christi along the Gulf Coast of Texas where permitting was a challenge due to powerful local opposition (“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, July 2008).
