Vestas to move US headquarters from Palm Springs
By the end of the year Vestas American Wind Technology says it will move its US headquarters from California and add a manufacturing facility to them. The move from Palm Springs is to lower transportation costs once it establishes wind turbine manufacturing in the US. The location is still undecided, but the City of Pueblo in southeast Colorado announced last year that Vestas was moving to Colorado and would eventually set up a new manufacturing plant there. The Danish company says it will not necessarily choose Pueblo. The Palm Springs subsidiary for sales and installation, with about 55 employees, has existed for about 18 years. Vestas hopes those employees will transfer from California to the as yet named new site.
