Germans commission 3 MW on Evia island
Energiekontor Hellenic, the Greek division of Germany's Energiekontor, is to commission a wind plant on the island of Evia this month made up of five, Enercon E-40 600 kW turbines. The 3 MW plant cost DEM 7.5 million. Once it is running, Energiekontor's financing division will invite investments in a wind fund tied to the project. "This will be the first foreign wind fund product that the company will market and so we wanted to get the station commissioned first," says Hepper. The wind investment fund will be marketed in Germany, but will be open to investors worldwide, he adds.
