Italian renewable energy group Alerion Energie Rinnovabili has acquired a 50% stake in New Green Molise, a company that owns the construction rights for a 72.5 MW wind farm in the region of Molise. The price for the acquisition was not disclosed. Total investments for the wind farm will amount to EUR 130 million. With this deal, Alerion says it has increased its portfolio of wind power plant already under construction or fully authorised in Italy to 160 MW. This is in addition to the company's 46 MW share of three wind farms operating in Sicily and Campania. Alerion is also eyeing opportunities in Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. The company expects that 20% of its installed wind capacity will be in international markets in 2011.
