AWARDS GIVEN BY THE INTERSTATE RENEWABLE ENERGY
Six states are being recognised for their renewable energy efforts including projects involving wind power. The six awards, for 1994, were announced in April by IREC at SOLTECH '95 in San Antonio, Texas. The Wisconsin Energy Bureau was recognised for a video on the role renewables are already playing in Wisconsin; The New York State Energy Office was recognised for its remote renewable energy systems grants programme; the Arizona Corporation Commission was recognised for its promotion of the use of renewables by utilities with integrated resource planning; and the Governors' Ethanol Coalition was recognised for its domestic renewable ethanol coalition, and the Virginia Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy for a swine lagoon project.
